Vocational Expert (VE)

 

Job Description:

Looking for individual/s to provide Vocational Expert opinion/testimony in legal matters regarding disability and vocational factors.  This job requires the ability to appear in person (or by phone) at Social Security Hearings at the appeal level to testify in court.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or related field or higher

  • Current Certified Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRC)

  • At least three years of vocational rehabilitation experience

Requirements:

You must pass all federal, state (level II) and other background screening and minimum experience requirements the following experience is required.

  • Up-to-date knowledge of, and experience with, industrial and occupational trends and local labor market conditions.

  • Experience in counseling and job placement of people with disabilities.

  • Knowledge of and compliance with Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) Code of Professional Ethics.

Knowledge of, and experience using, vocational reference sources, including:

  • The Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) and the Selected

  • Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles (SCO)

  • The Occupational Outlook Handbook published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics

  • Up-to-date knowledge of, and experience with, industrial and occupational trends and local labor market conditions.

  • County Business Patterns published by the Bureau of Census;

  • Knowledge of:

  • The skill level and physical and mental demands of occupations.

  • The characteristics of work settings.

  • The existence and incidence of jobs within occupations.

  • Transferrable skills analysis.

  • Rehabilitation Case Management

  • Vocational Case Management

  • File Reviews & Research

  • Transferable Skills Analysis

  • Labor Market Survey

  • Earning Capacity Evaluations    

  • Reports

  • Testing

  • Vocational Assessment

  • Comprehensive Job Placement

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
